I am preparing for a 10 day trip to Quito, Ecuador, many people have said, "Oh that's right on the equator, it'll be summer!" but a few people that have been before that I have talked to are saying it was quite chilly at times, usually in the 60s but sometimes the temperature would fluctuate. I am pretty cold natured, most of the time so 60 degrees is cold to me. If you have any advice please let me know! Thanks :)

It does get cold in the mountains, especially in Quito and especially at night. You will want a jacket for sure. It won't be "summer" in Quito, more like early-mid spring. During the day when the sun shines it can get hot, but most of the time the weather is mild to chilly.

It's good to layer your clothes, since the temp will vary throughout the day.

Quito has an average of 13 degrees Celsius (55.5 degrees Fahrenheit) ,79% humidity, and 11 days of rain on average in the month of December. Quito has a subtropical highland climate and has cool spring-like weather year round. . So i suggest to pack fairly warm also the nights get pretty cold
