I'm planning a trip to Quito and I was thinking of taking a day or two to see the Galapagos Islands. How would I get from Quito to Galapagos (boat or plane)? Also, how much does it cost to fly round trip or take a boat round trip? Thanks!!!

You most definitely don't want to try and take a boat to the Galapagos- they are far enough out that it would be a multiple-day trip. The flight from Guayaquil is less than 2hrs, as I recall- and I know there are flights from Quito as well. Check ecuadorian airline companies for current rates.
If you only have a day or two I wouldn't recommend spending the money to fly out to the Galapagos. Maybe take that time to travel to Otavalo, Banos and other areas around Quito- or head south to Cuenca, Loja and Vilcabamba.
Because of the way the park is set up you have to visit the Islands with a guided group. The Galapagos are much better saved for a time when you can spend at least 4 or 5 days. In addition to airline fares and guide fees count on a $100.00 entrance fee to the park.

We went to the Galapagos on the top of our South usa holiday in January 2014. We landed on the airport on Baltra and have been given a bus journey to the city of Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz. We intentionally did no longer e book a flight fee tag via fact we don't p.c. to holiday that way (i comprehend individuals do - each and each to their very own!). As Galapagos is mythical for its marine elegance i'd propose you to p.c. sea way. The prize is incredibly low besides. as quickly as we arrived in Puerto Ayora there have been many holiday shops offering decrease priced 5-, six-, seven- and eight-day cruises. the form would take few hours.
